Biggest challenge for 2006

Obtaining the loan mix that we desire. Most of the loans we are granting are home equities, both HELOC and fixed. Increasing our market share of fewer purchase money mortgages and vehicle purchases is the goal.

Greatest benefit of being a council member

The constant flow of ideas, information, and training opportunities. I am looking forward to attending my first Lending Council annual conference in November. Also having easy access to a variety of lending expertise in several formats is very beneficial, including white papers that are always valuable.

Best part of my job

Lending is definitely the most exciting part of credit union life. It is my passion and never dull. Besides I don't look good in glen plaid so I couldn’t be an accountant!

Hardest part of my job

Allocating time between staff training and development, evaluating current products and programs, and researching/developing new products and programs.

Hobbies and interests

Reading , listening to jazz, watching Chicago Cubs games, and attending college football games with my sons; also traveling to big cities.

People would be most surprised to learn that I . . .

Would be a lounge singer if I could sing like Bobby Darin, Michael Buble, or Frank Sinatra.

Most recent book

Mayflower by Nathaniel Philbrick.

Life goal not yet accomplished

Seeing a baseball game in every major league park in the

country.

Something that always makes me laugh

Elliott, my 8-year-old.

If I had an extra hour in the day . . .

I would try to muster up the energy to exercise on a regular basis. Some say you have more energy after you exercise, but that has not been my experience!
