Call for Executive Committee NominationsThe CUNA Lending Council (CLC) is built around the democratic process of elected leadership. To that end, the current executive committee members are pleased to announce the Council’s call for nominations for seats on the executive committee. During this election, two seats will be elected each to a three-year term. Seats will be awarded based on the number of votes cast for each candidate. A nominating committee, led by executive committee member Sharon Gaugler, VP Lending A+ FCU, Austin, Texas, Linda Winkfein, VP Lending Services, Texas Credit Union League, and Dana Rawlings, SVP Smart Financial CU, Houston Texas will evaluate and present recommended candidates to the membership for democratic election. The committee will take care to present a slate of candidates that both exceeds the number of vacancies and presents as geographically and professionally balanced a roster as possible. Nominating committee members will solicit individuals who: have a demonstrated understanding of credit union lending functions, are representative of CLC members and their professional interests, and have contributed to the credit union movement outside of their responsibility to their employing credit union. Candidates for the executive committee must be CLC members in good standing; be an affiliated credit union, be willing and able to serve a full three-year term; be willing and able to attend no less than two Executive Committee meetings annually; be willing and able to spend at least 50 or more hours per year on volunteer CLC work; and have the support of his or her employer/CEO to fully participate in required CLC Executive Committee requirements. Full Executive Committee position descriptions will be provided to all candidates submitting the required materials. Candidates interested in serving on the CUNA Lending Council Executive Committee are requested to submit a letter of interest, resume, and a 100-word campaign statement (including credit union asset size, number of years in the lending field and number of years in credit union movement) that will be used for the official membership ballot. Ballots must be returned for tallying by September 8, 2005 to CUNA Council Administration. New officers take their executive committee seats at the conclusion of the 11th Annual CUNA Lending Council Conference, November 6 – 9, 2005 at the Loews Miami Beach hotel in Miami Beach, Florida.
