Member Spotlight: Kim Welch

Kim Welch is the vice president of operations for Central Virginia Federal Credit Union in Lynchburg, Virginia. The credit union is a community chartered credit union with approximately $67 million is assets, 14,250 members, and 43 employees.

Kim was born and raised in the Lynchburg area. She has been married for 27 years and has a son and a daughter, as well as a new love in her life—her first grandson.

Kim has been employed in the credit and lending industry for 27 years, 11 of those with Central Virginia Federal Credit Union. She has also served as a loan officer, branch manager, and call-center manager.

Biggest challenge for 2006

It has been and will continue to be maintaining and increasing our loan volume. With the aggressive marketplace and increasing rates, it continues to be a primary focus.

Best piece of CLC advice

Utilize the Council whenever possible! It’s a wealth of information from

great people and institutions.

Greatest benefit from being a member of the CLC

Everyone is so helpful and willing to share information with fellow credit unions when asked. It’s great to know that people are willing to take time out of their own busy schedules to offer their expertise with others.
